MAF Sensor Orientation Question

Since I have no idea if it does or not...

Does the MAF sensor need to be in a certain orientation to work effectively? Or can I lay it on its side if I need the space under the hood...?

Thanks

They need to point in the right direction, but you can turn it on that axis if you need to.

right, not going to put it backwards, but I might rotate it a different direction for some specific clearance issues I am having.
