Question fluid question

when i pulled out of my driveway earlier, i saw there were black spots on the ground. i dont think its oil. the material has a candle wax texture to it. i dont think oil dries up like that. when i parked my car over it to see where it could be coming from, its right below the cat area. i checked underneath the car and i dont see any type of leaks.

It could be that sticky a$$ under coating they have under the body of the car. Maybe it melted around ur cat and dripped off?

I had the same thing, right be hind the cat - mine was a little more obvious where the problem was though, there was grease all over my exhaust. What had happened was the little rubber boot on my driveshaft started to crack, spraying grease everywhere.

First of all does your car even have undercoating on it? if it does chances are likely its undercoating. especially if it's around a source of great heat. if not does anybody else park in the same spot as you?

looks like goat poo.

why is your undercoating melting down like that? it shouldn't be dripping like that.

Usually the undercoating is done in the dealership by the mechanics. Get a lazy mechanic that just want's to get the vechicle out the door wont do that great of a job spraying the undercoat. my guess is that he got sloppy and sprayed some on the cat.
