I have the Spec Stage 3 in mine and a friend here locally has the stage 2 in his. Mine is a little grabby, but that is the nature of it. His drives like stock.

but has it been reliable? would u personally recomend 2 or 3 for stock but alot of launches... also does any clutch work better for absorbing shock so that the tranny wont have too much stress when it engages?

I have 12,000 miles on my Spec staage II clutch on my Camry with no issues. However, if I were you, I'd go with the ACT on the Evo. The only reason I went with Spec is that they're cheap, and I knew I'd be selling the car anyway.

I am not going to personally recommend anything , as I am no expert. If I was going to do it again I would go with the Spec stage 2. Both our cars are working good so far with no problems from the clutch. However, we do not have a boatload of miles on them yet.

No experience with the Spec clutches, but I have had the ACT street disk in my car for 20,000 miles with no problems. That is with quite a few track launches and over 300whp.

I second that. I also have the act clutch with about 12000 miles and 350 whp and have a quite a few launches myself and I love it.
