So guys check this out and throw in some feedback if you will please.
I was driving to a bootycall last night
. I'm driving normal, doing the speed limit. When all of a sudden, the engine died, RPM's dropped, and I pulled to the side of the highway. Tried to restart, and nothing. But I did notice that my SAFCII didn't light up, but everything else did.
So I'm thinking, fuel, spark, fuse, ECU. trying to figure it out so I won't have to take it to the dealer. YOu know.
As far as mods, I have TBE, Intake, Header, O2 housing, and a boost controller not installed yet
If anyone could help, I would really appreciate it.

If the MAS died, it would still run, you would be in "limp-home mode" did a Intake/IC pipe come off? by the throttle body? or one of the 2 on the intercooler?
you are talking about the Mass airflow Sensor (MAS) not MAF correct?

If everything is lighting up when you turn the key to the "ON" switch and your SAFCII doesn't light up then their lies your problem. Just unplugg the SAFCII and plug in the stock stuff and if your car starts, it's the SAFCII. If it's the SAFCII then check your sodering.

THis is dumb but is your battery connection tight?
Check your fuses.
If battery is okay and everything is powered except SAFC then check the power or gnd to it.

sounds like a ground out or something related. The same thing happened to me way back when I first put on my exhaust and the o2 sensor was rubbing against the bottom of the car and the wires touched metal. Definitely re-check all of your connections and grounds. Especially if it seems to be affecting electrically a few select things in your car...
Ok guys. Same thing JUST happened to me, I just got my car off of the tow truck.
Here's what I've found so far:
I have the exact same symptoms as the person in the first post, S-AFCII not getting power, it happened on the highway cruising at highway speeds, RPM's just dropped and the motor won't start.
Here's what I've found in addition. I took the S-AFCII out of the loop (took the Fields harness off) and plugged the ECU directly into the car's harness. Still nothing. With the S-AFCII out of the loop, nothing has changed. Still same symptoms (minus the AFC obviously).
I noticed that the Service Engine Soon light doesn't even come on when I cycle the key to the start position. I've checked all of the fuses and everything looks good. The only thing I found that I'm unsure of is the ECU Controller found in the fuse box under the hood. I have no idea what exactly this thing does, or how to test it.
I'm about the go out and get the car in the air and double check everything else.
Please respond with any ideas.
Thanks.

Car cranks fine.
Here's my thought, tell me if this sounds right. I'm looking into power/grounding issues before the ECU. I figured that since the AFC isn't turning on, in addition to the Service Engine Soon light not coming on (with or without the AFC connected) I'm led to believe that the ECU isn't the problem, or at least not the ONLY problem. It seems to me that the ECU just isn't seeing power as the first problem.
Even if the AFC isn't allowing MAF signal to the ECU, as stated in a previous post, wouldn't the 12v power still come through and at least turn it on? I couldn't see the whole ECU shutting down and not coming back up because of a lack of signal other than 12v power. Right, wrong, maybe???
