upgraded FMIC worth it in cold climate?
I have the chance to pick up a nice FMIC for a good price.. other then the bling factor im wondering if it would even be worth it for me.. it occasionally gets warm here during the day.. but the temps are consitant year round and at night.. for example last night there was a nice sub 50 degree heavy fog covering the entire pennisula.. this is the most perfect turbo weather on the planet!.. fog almost every time i want to go to run the car.. its almost like natural water injection
. Will i see any gain with the FMIC if i already have full IC piping.
I am doing no road racing..but im autox every chance i get.. so a very large unit is out of the question due to weight slowing me down more then its helping.

only if it is less restrictive. heat is not the only factor in cooling, pressure drop is also very important for response... depends on how hardcore and technical you wanna be...
i don't understand what is to say no about... if you can reduce the restrictions and the heat isn't a factor... then why not do it..... if ou could get away with it why not just run a striaght pipe.... ti's just you usually can't get away with that. but why not try to get as close as you can if the heat isnt' a factor? stock intercooler isn't the least restrictive thing in the world.

hmm.. Well it would be nice, but look at the powergains between o2/alcohol injection and an IC.. doesnt 02 injection cool the engine even better then an IC? Plus its less money? and it adds a bunch of hp? I would like both..kinda torn. The IC might have to wait a bit. I understand a less restrictive intercooler would be helpful.. but i have seen very little dyno information on the actually gain from this... but as far as a gain for cooler inlet temps I dont think its possible in my case.
