Okay my BRAND NEW Turbo XS bypass valve is doing something odd. I just put it on last night. Well this morning I noticed that I can only make 5psi. Well I took the unit off and looked inside. The piston was seized inside the valve body. I could not push it out with my had so I used a spark plug socket and managed to get it freed. I oiled it up really well. I put oil on the piston and inside the valve. Well everything was working well. Holding boost fine and operating correctly.
Then tonight I noticed I was only holding 5psi again....so I did the same thing. Low and behold the piston was stuck again. Only this time I was able to free it with a little pressure from my thumb. This time I used white lithium grease in the hopes that it will do a better job that the motor oil, since there was no sign that I had even used motor oil when I opened the valve up the second time.
My only theory at the moment is that the valve body appears to be aluminum and the piston is brass (my guess), and the two different metals being that close to the exhaust manifold are heating up and expanding at different rates, hence the piston seizing in the body.
Or I just got a bad unit.
Hopefully I'm not the only one that has experienced this.

that would be a turboxs valve for you, its a metal on metal contact like alot of valves but for some reason alot of turboxs valves seem to stick. i had the same problems and just junked the valve, a freind of mine has the same valve on his gsx and it is starting to do the same thing.

No it is not the RFL. Its is the H-34 that is designed to vent back to intake. Apparently my grease trick is doing the job so far. I guess I'll just need to take the valve off once a month and regrease....if it does not seize again. If it does I'm going to call somebody.
