Injen intake damage

ok i got the kit about 4 months ago and i love it, if this is a repost i am sorry i searched a crap load of other threads and no one answered my question so please dont tell me repost.

my filter on my intake seems to be rubbing on the hood. i dont know if it is due to engine vibration or when i spool up and the intake starts to suck the air. all i know is that i am starting to see some LIGHT damage to the filter. i went back threw and made sure all the pipes were tight and the only thing i can think of that is causing this is that bolt they have with the rubber pad to keep from vibration noise isnt doing its job. i tightened the living hell out of it but i dont want to break it.

i would appriciate any help before my filter gets to the point of no return thanks guys and agian sorry if this is a repost.

maybe you need to turn it to the side a bit.

I had the same problem. Just loosen the clamp right before the MAF sensor and push the filter and MAF unit down a little so the filter no longer rubs and tighten the clamp back up. Problem solved.

I had the same problem as you. The engine dampner fixed that problem. Engine doesn't rock backwards at WOT.

yeh, that makes sense. although EVo engine doesn't rock back and forth as a lot of the engines out there.

maybe a mounting a bracket might be a good thing... local muffler shop..

yeh, I work nights. I thought you were stalking me, but really, we jump at the same posts that turns to bold blue.

lol

lol yeah where do you work? and you are right i go on every so often and i see what the new post are and then i hit them up.

Ja are i have seen quite a bit at the top end of things. you do lose alittle at the bottom end of things. very little, all you have to do is keep in the turbo band while racing and all you reap is good from it. i think the intake dropped my idle a tad bit but no big deal. i think the best thing about this intake is the sound. you are getting two things for the price of one. me personnally i wouldnt want my BOV to sound any louder. now on the fit of the intake... everything went very well the only thing that i could complain about was at the lower end of the IC pipe. i wish they would gave you a new bigger silicon connector. i used the stock fitment. i wish the pipe would fit alittle closer to the FMIC but all you have to do is wrench the sh*t out of the t bolt and you wont have any problem. it took me about 2 hrs to put it on because if all the beer and cig breaks. lol if you have any questions hit me up i am on here quite a bit i hope that i helped
