Well, yeah, "bang for your buck" means the most HP per $ spent. That would easily be a drop-in filter, since you get 3-5hp for a $65-70 part. If you go with the HKS RS or Injen, you're talking 4X the price for a few more HP. If you got 20whp from an Injen, then it would be worth it.

injen is an intake and upper IC pipe, so you can't really compare that to HKS RS, now can we.

All these open element intakes actually LOSE power when you close the hood. Especially when the radiator fans come on and the underhood air is heated up to 200+ deg F. Who cares what they make (or don't make) with the hood open, on a dyno. Most of us drive our cars with the hood closed. There is a reason why the factory airbox completely sealed and cold air ducted from in front of the radiator.

i noticed great gains using a helix conical filter (stock pipe) over K&N drop in. Car pulls up top very nicely, no reflash either. Slight loss in low end, off boost, torque, but well worth the trade off. Who drives off boost in an evo anyway?

Works has the largest-surface drop-in filter. It's a little more expensive than the k&N, though, because of the larger filter surface area.
