Car Hurtin!

Well last night at around 7pm I was driving with a friend in the car. We were only about 2 minutes from his house as we had just left. We were going around a turn not very fast either about 40mph and the back end got loose. I have driven my car around turns before a lot faster and had the backend get lose before and then pulled it back in easily. This time I wasn't going fast at all and it got lose. I was unable to pull the car back in and we went into a spin. We slid across the other lane in over a ditch. We then slid through this persons yard and to a stop. The car started and was drivable and sense I hadn't hit anything we limped it back to my friends house as we were only 2 minutes away. There we assested the damages. The intercooler was pushed back and up. It has mud packed in it. So I'm sure the piping is screwed as well. The rear driverside tire (which I think is the cause of the accident) is flat and disconnected from the rim. Anyone know how much the stock intercooler costs from Mitsu?

The front bumper is all bent up and the lip is gone along with the splash guard from under the engine. The rear driverside tire (which I think is the cause of the accident) is flat and disconnected from the rim. The side shirt on the passenger side is also hanging off. I didn't even pop the hood as I was scared I would be able to get it closed. I don't know is there is tranny damage as we were going backward while in 3rd gear. Anyone know how much the stock intercooler costs from Mitsu? Overall it SUCKED big time and my ride is screwed!
That sucks. You should go after market or used on the intercooler it would be a lot cheaper. Did you bend the rim also? For the bead to break you must have inpacted that tire into something. Hopefully you can get it back up and runnning. You could always make a claim on your insurance. You rate might go up, but you could get your car back in working order. Good luck.

Stock FMIC is 800 i'm pretty sure. You might aswell just go aftermarket and upgrade everything.

Yeah luckily we are ok. We missed a telephone pole by a matter of feet. The rims didn't look bent but the tire was definately flat and not on the rim correctly. I am going to call my insurance company today and get the car towed from my friends house to a shop. I wonder if I can get an Evo IX front bumper if it's the same price as the VIII. I guess I'll have to talk to the shop after they do an accessment and see if they will order aftermarket parts instead of mitsu parts.

The AMS and the Buschur intercoolers look nice. Both are $650. I'm going to try to push the shop to use one of those. Any suggestions on which is better?

True, true. It was definately an unfortunate accident. Still I could have hit that telephone pole that was a few feet away. That would have most definately totalled the car and maybe worse.
