Need Help Choosing UPPER IC PIPE ! ! !

Hey all,

I'm looking to dress my engine bay up a bit more, and well I figure it's a good time to do an upper IC pipe (i already have the lower ic piping done).

I'm still undecided whether I will be going with a small-battery kit or just sticking with the OEM battery. So I need recommendations for upper IC pipes meant to go with the stock battery or a smaller battery.

I will be running a HKS SSQBOV so it needs a flange for that..

Also it has to be something that won't break the bank.. Nothing too expensive..

So please give me your recommendations and also let me know what you guys are using and what your feedback is on those.

Thanks a bunch in advance!

Too bad you are using an HKS. I just listed a pipe with Greddy BOV for $260. If the flange is the same I might seperate the 2.

Dp you want to relocate the battery to the trunk
Summit racing has a NHRA legal kit for about $70

I'd rather keep it in the engine bay.

Also on a sidenote, I plan on running a light system/navi/and some other electronics in the car, would it be wise to get a smaller battery then? Or should I stick w/the stock battery in that case?

Go with the buschur, and then buy the flange for the HKS to be mounted to the 1g pipe from Buschur. It looks nice IMHO
I am running some audio equipment with the Buschur Battery. Never had any problems in the winter or anything.

I fortunately lucked out, so I didn't have to pay full price for anything. I knew someone parting out their stuff, but you can get the flange here

The piping kit and battery will cost you around 500.00 I believe from Buschur.

Worth it. It cleans up everything so nicely. Plus the length of the Upper IC pipe is quite a bit shorter.

Hmm.. as nice as that looks, it may end up being too pricey..

It'll be about $560-$570 roughly, and I won't even really get a "real" gain out of it..

It's more $$ than I have right now.. maybe i'll stick w/upper IC pipes that are meant to go w/the stock battery.

thanks again though scott88vr6

there are very few kits out there that clear the stock battery unfortunately - relocating the battery to the trunk though is an awesome way to lighten the nose, gives you tons of room in the engine bay, and since you can just reuse the stock battery, does not cost all that much more

hope you do know that the HKS bov flutters(diarrhea) big time at part throttle shifts....if you have VTA that is. I would assume you plan on VTA since you wanted a upper ic pipe with the HKS flange.
