Greddy R-Spec Intercooler

I did some searches and couldn't find too much about this intercooler. Anyone running it and what are your thoughts on this intercooler? It looks really nice and is also larger than the V-Spec with a better fin system as well.

When I had mine installed I had a fully built race head done so hard to say what performance gains I got with it alone. Definately a nice piece and as for the fitment.. you have to trim your two front bumper mounts(inside the front bumper) a little bit and you get to keep your stock undertray. not sure how heavy the stock one weighs but the Greddy Rspl one is 12 lbs. I got pics of it close up and installed on the car if you want to see it.

Get an AMS unit or a Buschur Racing unit.

Arc is fine if you like expensive stuff.
You are confusing the RSPL with the VSPL, their more entry level i/c. The VSPL flows as well as the stocker (decent to 400hp), the RSPL is more for high hp applications. I have one on my 240sx and it did what it needed to do for me.

Thanks for the info and the pics would be great. I was going to go ahead and get the R-spec because it was larger and had a better fin configuration. If I ever did a turbo upgrade I'd be covered.

Is this a good choice for a stock turbo ic? Or would I be better off with AMS or Buschur?

ill get some pics up in a day or two, still in Thailand on vacation. Its true what Vapor said, the R spec is built for high hp apps. Greddy and other JDM IC's like HKS, ARC...etc are tube and fin which are lighter than bar and plate.

i'd have to say this is untrue... the vspec core is a piece... i hate hearing people say flowing a certain hp... cuz that's totally meaningless.

the rspec core is very well designed. it's got very nice fin design and it's very dense. the thermal transfer efficiency of this unit is probably unsurpassed by anything in it's weightclass. the only other thing close is the arc which is heavier and bigger. and as for efficiency bar none, the nisei would top both but is much heavier.

the rspec is a good match for the stock turbo but you should turn up boost and what not... yer not gonna see too much of anything but a drop if you just bolt it right on. cuz it's bigger than stock and prolly more restrictive too, but it's thermal transfer efficiency is better by far.

air flow = HP, are you saying thats untrue? The VSPL has a lot of turbulators, which slow down the air, improving cooling, but limiting airflow. The RSPL has less turbulators so the velocity is not lost so much.

Also, the reason I said that was b/c that is how GReddy rates their cores.
