BOV question

I just picked up my new evo to replace my supra as a daily driver and i was just confused with the setup on the car. It has an HKS SSQ bov but its mounted on the intake side of the turbo, and i can't seem to figure out how that works. There is a polished piece that comes out of the turbos intake and it goes into the intake box and it has the bov mounted on it. Anyone know whats up with that?

and that's the only place the SSQ is attached to??? If that's the case, then you might not want to drive the car around at all for now.

Need a pic...

If you're running recirc mode, then it should dump air back to the intake pipe. The stock BOV is mounted before the turbo (on the MAF pipe) for that reason. There should be another duct on the back of the SSQV coming from the IC pipe.

That is way wrong, you need to put it coming off of the intercooler pipe.

Yeah..I have never seen anything installed like that. That setup won't vent any built up pressure anywhere.

So i figured it out, that is a good intake pipe but for some reason they put the bov on the fitting where you recirculate it into the intake and they blocked off the fitting on the intercooler pipe that goes to the intake manifold.

Wow, that is messed up. See my attached pic for a hint. Also check out the pics on evomoto.com: http://www.evomoto.com/tech_info.php...3_10&tech_id=6 ... granted they are for a Greddy Type-S, but any recirculating BOV should be installed this way. If you want VTA only (IMNSHO not a good idea), then you connect it to the upper intercooler pipe only.

Thanks for all the help, i actually had it hooked up correctly when i made that last post. For some reason the car seems slower now, i think it might be set too soft or i have a leak but thanks for all the help.

yes that definitely looks backwards... but hmmm... that doesn't seem to have an adjustment screw like mine. Here's my write-up FYI:
