which cooling mist system do you have? 100psi or 150psi pump?

I am not going to run 100% methanol anyway, so if that is the hangup, then I'll be fine. Prolly a 50/50 or 25/75 (water/meth).

AMS(superior controller) or alkycontrol.com, they use the same basic parts.

did you have the earlier version of the kit or the newer one? If you got the newer version...i think will do alky/water mix.....can you please see if there is any inscription on the pump?

I'm running the 150 PSI system. I'm thinking the same as you -- I kind of like the idea of the 50/50 or 70/30.

I'm assuming it's the newest version. I just took my car down to Buschur two weeks ago for them to install and tune it.

AMS and Buschur are both methanol safe. AMS is made by alkycontrol.com (owned by Julio aka Razor on this board). Buschur is made by SMC. Both SMC and alkycontrol have their own websites. AMS/alkycontrol uses a shurflo pump but it's not an off-the-shelf pump.

So, from all the information which one then is the best to go with, (less issues that people had, and better overall results)???

Your best bet is to just read all the threads on here from different people with different experiences. I think people have had good and bad luck with all of the systems. Also go on the turbobuick and t6p forums and read the alky injection sections of their forums. Also, talk to your individual tuner. If Dynoflash is going to tune your car, then I'd get his kit since that's what he's most familiar with. Same thing if AMS is going to tune your car. If you are doing your own tuning with a UTEC/AEM/etc., then you are freer to make your own choices.

Man, you aren't gonna be able to tell a difference unless you are super picky about the controller.

i "believe" that SMC has been making kits for quite a bit longer than the alkycontrol folks, but im not 100% certain.

The SMC kits have been hyped a lot more on this board, but alkycontrol has been around plenty long in the turbobuick community. I know that the pump in the SMC kits is a brand new design (the black plastic one) whereas the pump in the alkycontrol kits has been around for much longer and is a tried and true design.

Any idea who makes the "SMC kits is a brand new design (the black plastic one)" pump?

SMC was building turbo buick kits a long time ago too. I didn't realize alkycontrol did though.

Get whichever you want, i will say this....Steve at SMC has the best customer service that i have ever seen. But, i have no idea about the other guy. i have only dealt with SMC.
