Question for all those who have alky kits.

Which kit to get ? I was thinking Buschur or AMS?
If you can please state pros and cons for each!!!

the AMS (alky control) I think you can put water or meth/alky in that kit, the other only water I THINK. the AMS kit has a bigger pump also. do research, this is just my 2c

why cant you put alcohol in the Cooling Mist system?

 

I'm pretty sure that you can put alchy in the cooling mist systems. I think the problems arise from 100% methanol. I'm not completely sure though. I'm going to fabricate my own alchy kit I think, not so much for running increased boost but a small shot of alchy just as a safety factor and cooling properties. I don't want to make my AFR's too rich, but I do want to cool the charge air, and from what I can tell, you'll benefit more from the 200 bucks to make your own kit then from buying a big front mount and pipes.

I'm going to do my own testing and hopefully get the car up on TT's dyno.

 

Coolingmist systems are alky safe.

 

No! the diaphragm is santoprene and the valves are viton. viton swells will swell in the presence of pure methyl alcohol and i think there is also leaking issues. Coolingmist pumps = shurflo pumps, call shurflo for more info.

Well I sure hope you are incorrect -- for the fact they sell it on their website being safe for alky. I'll call shurflo to be sure, but as of yet I have not had any problems with mine.

what about that SMC kit?

 

smc kit = buschur kit = fuel pump =i think you can only run straight methanol w/ additive in them

 

SMC kit = Buschurs or Dynolash kit,and I think you can only get the SMC kit from Buschur or Al,not certain,but I "think" that is the only way you can get it,or maybe it is the same price from them as it is from SMC,and more readily available.Also 100% METH is no problem with the SMC/Buschur?Dynoflash kit
