Quiet Helix !!!!!!

I have the Helix exhaust and test pipe and was wondering what I could do to quiet this thing down without degrading performace. Or.......is there another exhaust out there that is as quiet as stock but matches or comes close to the Helix performance? I've heard Fujitsubo is pretty damn good.

I think Helix is the loudest exhaust Ive heard yet for the EVO. If you want quiet Id look into HKS. We just put a full turboback (Megan 3" DP/CD & HKS cat-back) on my friends 03 and it its 10x quieter than my Helix.

I think a high flow cat might quieten it down some, if not you can buy a resonator for like $75 that will replace your test pipe. That should do it, friend of mine has a resonator in his and it sounds just perfect.

I thought about a resonator or hfc. Kind of want a new setup all together. DP has to stay, goes with the kit.

I've had it on the car for almost a year and liked the sound but gradually got tired of it. I'd like to hear it but I would also like to hear the GT30R weeez too.

Might want to check this out: (if youd like to keep cat-delete in tact)

http://www.logicperformance.com/data...roducts_id=662

It definitely quiets down the exhaust, its straight thru cat delete but with resonator, cheap option too!

I HFC will definitely quiet things down but also hurt power compared to the delete.

Hey,

I've been debating what to do as well. I have a HFC and it's still loud. I've been using the silencer for now, but my dyno testing showed it takes ~50 WHP...

Next week I'm re-installing the stock cat-back. I think the flap in the muffler will really help keep it quiet at cruise and idle (for driving down my dead end street and by cops). The stock catback may be 10-25 HP worse than the Helix, but I would bet it's still 20+ HP better than the silencer in the Helix...

I'm probably going to get an Exhaust cutout, but I want to confirm that I can have a backup failsafe way to close the cutout if the motor for the cutout breaks. For example, a plate I can use to cover the cutout that can be screwed on with wingnuts or something like the manual cutouts...

Good luck,

FB

I have this coupled with the TurboXS DP and cat back. To be honest the welds and flanges are of higher quality than the TXS components.

The Magnaflow muffler is pretty quiet...My roomate has it on his Evo and it's only loud when he is really on it. I got the RS-R and it's just loud all the time.

Ditto I get a lot of compliments on how mine sounds. Hell even my dad said it has a nice tone to it. (BR 3" TBE w/HFC Magnaflow)

Magnaflow are one of the better/quiter mufflers out there. It's going to be hard to get quite like stock and have the same performance/flow.

Look at least one resonator, HF cat, and a magnaflow should do it.
