Why is my boost ramping up so slow????

This is pissing me off. Look at the boost vs. rpm. Its SSLLOOWW to ramp up. Never used to be like this. I put on a Halman. I have a 3" CAT, could it be pluged?? Maybe the turbo is dying. The aircleaner is clean. Honkin boost leak???

First check for boost leaks. Start at the air intake filter and go through all the hose clamps untill you reach the intake manifold. check all vacume lines as well. I hate boost leaks!!!! I've had the same problem and found a few loose clamps. I upgraded to better hose clamps from NAPA auto stores.

Also make sure your boost controller is installed properly. I can't tell you how many ppl have installed one totally wrong.

this datalog is without a boost controller. I mean the WG actuator is UNPLUGED. So the ramp up should be as fast as possible. Ime guestimating 3700 plus or minus 200 rpm for full boost. Ray

Did it start doing this as soon as you installed the Hallman or what? Do you have any logs you can compare it to before you did the boost controller? For a stock turbo the car is spooling really slow. It could be a boost leak or it even could be your turbo going out. Id start with a pressure check and see if you have any boost leaks.

How do you unplug the wastgate? I am trying to find out why my boost is ramping up so slow and I think it might be the wastgate. Thats one thing I need to check.

How does the wastgate work??

The wastegate is right above the downpipe, and below the hotside right?

From the wastegate there is a arm that is connected to the wastegate actuator. The actuator has a vacume line running to the MBC.

Am i right so far?

I think my wastegate is open all the time. How do I fix it?
