what i started tuning today...
small block 409ci, twin t70's, 1600cc's, dart heads, big cam, blah blah
this one should max the dyno reading at about 25psi or so(950whp), but the manufacturer of the cars wants us to run it up to ~30psi and then take it to our friends md-1750 for the reading.
i know its not an evo sorry, but i figured if i have an evo and think its cool, someone else probly would too.
ken
edit: the paint looks strange in the picture, its a kevlar body with pearl type paint

we tried the mud terrains out today and it blew the tires off the rollers at 6psi. it was snowing rubber in the whole shop lol.
gotta get some 12.5" wide radials tomorrow.
then we were having a bad map signal to the ecu. it was completely stalling the motor if more than 50% throttle was being applied. however, if we were to ease into the throttle, we could ramp it up.
found that the placement of the vaccum line leading the map sensor was being heated pretty heavily, thus allowing it to calapse under sudden large vaccum pull(which occurs under intial throttle opening).
we also noticed that the boost controller was improperly installed in the car, so we'll be changing that tomorrow.
heres a comparison of an 18" vs. 38"
N1te: this type of car is considered a long travel(28") sandrail and is mainly ran in the sand dunes of california and arizona.
the cars real purpose is fun

hopefully we can work out the bugs and get this thing tuned up by wednesday, as it has to be at the la sand expo this weekend. being that we didnt build the car, and are just tuning it, makes it 200% harder to find and fix the f*&kups
glad you guys like it, should have some video to post when shes done.
now, when you floor that gas paddel, the front of your call will lift upward toward the sky, and if you keep your foot floored, you'll spin a 180, and looking at the car behind you, upside down...

does now...
this car was overly frustrating, the heads were lifting under boost. the owner installed arp studs, but failed to hot tq them.
they were also using "master power" (masterbater) "SUPER T70" turbos on this car.
i warned them in advance and offered to replace them with Garrett units for peice of mind, but i was told "push these till they let go"...
they did
broken shaft tossed the compressor nut around and washed the compressor wheel out on one @ around 26psi.the car did 575whp @ 1 bar with the Garrett replacements last week.
they had to pick the car up for a photo shoot they had in northern Az today at the "cinders".
the car rips nice though. from a roll on, it lifts the front under boost.
we were joking about the car wheeling over, and the owner told us that with the 38" paddles in the sand, its possible....
its so new age redneck that you almost have to like it
