Question 3" two bolt exhaust gaskets

Ok,

I've never understood why exhaust manufactures do this....make 3" two bolt flanges when everyone in the "reality" world builds 3" exhausts with three bolt flanges. They are less likely to leak and seal soooo much better.

Well, with that said, how and where on Gods green earth do I find METAL two bolt exhaust gaskets like they put in some of these after market exhausts?? It's definately not a local purchase item.

Sometimes I wonder why I even go after-market and just not stick with custom. DOH!!!

I agree with you, I had so much trouble with my exhaust leaking and sealing good with the 2 bolt design with multiple components from different companies. I ended up getting a AMS tbe instead because of its 3 bolt flange design and love it. Btw, I went to many autostores and they dont have any 3" exhaust gaskets so I bought them from AMS. I guess if you dont mind waiting for shipping you can try them.

Awesome, thanks guys for the replies. I'll be looking into ordering them, because there are nothing like this locally.

Apexi used 2 bolt 3" flanges on their turboback for gst's and gsx's where the downpipe met the exhaust. My greddy TI also uses that where it bolts to my 3" downpipe. I agree with u 3 bolts are ncier but om some car you wont be able to reach the 3rd bolt easily so they make it 2.

^^ Your right about not being able to hit the third bolt as easy....my GSX has 3" 3bolt exhaust and the only one I have trouble with is the cat-back to test pipe. The others are angled enough to hit rather easily. If these manufactures just do enough R&D (and we're talking an extra 30min at most...oooooo, aaaaaa) then these exhausts would fit better, leak less and you could get a freakin' gasket for it locally! ;-) Sheeeeesh.

I think AMS was the only one that decided to do it right the first time with their 3" 3bolt system.

Off soap box...thank you. ;-)
