Drivetrain durability and Mods

Seems there are way to many people talking about drivetrain/line issues in this forum like changing/rebuilding a Tranny or TC is normal or expected.

I autocross 3 weekends out of every month in the summer and usually hit 4-5 track events every year. I'm wondering how far I can take my 05 MR before I can expect TC/Tranny/Diff problems.

When do the problems usually occur? After 350hp, 375hp, on cars with more than 400 at the crank? Before reading the forum's I expected this car to handle 400 without a problem as you can get them in Europe that way so most of the car should be designed for it.

Are most of the issues with 03's? Some input from someone who's had access to a lot of EVO's and has a good feel for what will or won't work would be great.

How are the Drag cars holding up with 500+ hp? Or do they just keep repairing the drive train?

Thanks in advance for any info!

Components on the Evo drivetrain are very strong. There are plenty of Evo onwers here running low 11's to high 10's with stock tranny and tc. Its all about how you drive. If you autox that shouldnt be a problem at all. I see you have an MR, the only thing i know is that the 5 speed is stronger than the 6 speed which was said by Jon from TRE since he inspected both trannys.03's had the most problems with tc mostly bc ppl using the wrong fluid in the tc. The MR has a lsd in the tc and in the rear diff which we 03-04 owners dont have. I wouldnt worry about anything imo.

Thanks for the reply. That's what I thought it seems most of the problems are with the spider gears in the non LSD cars and the stock clutch is a given.
