Help, Hallman likes 19 PSI

I had my Hallman set @ 21.5 PSI for about a year untouched (no adjusting and used the screw on the fan as in the the pic to mount the controller)

Well, i put in my helix intercooler pipes and the boost dropped to 19, as expected. I tried to crank it up and no matter how much I turned up the controller, the boost stayed at 19. I turned the Hallman as low as it could go and tried all over and got it to set to 22. For about a week, it stayed at 22 then out of the blue at WOT it dropped from 22 to 19. after that, 19 all the time no matter if I cranked the knob. I unscrewed the hallman from the fan, shook it - and it went right back to 22. Lasted about a month, then yesterday I had to take a 3 hr drive to san antonio. 22 when in boost until right when I was 20 miles from finishing trip, it dropped and stayed at 19. again, unscrewed from fan, shook it and I am back to 22. how do I make this stop?

agreed. Otherwise call Hallman, and ask em.

Or, check the lines to make sure they aren't pinching.

i have to ask, even though may be a dumb question, but did u buy the pro rx? if so, did u replace the light spring with the heavier spring? if not, the boost will only hold to 19-20psi or 22 like mine did at first and then steady at 19-20psi with the boost turned up and then replaced the ORIGINAL spring with the HEAVIER spring that comes with the pro rx. all the sudden.....28psi! then i adjusted it back down to 22psi for everyday driving and it holds great!

I never got a heavy spring. Do I need a heavy spring because I have been running 22 PSI for over a year without dropping. I think it maybe dirty because it sounds grity when I turn the knob. Anyone know how to take it apart?

I don't think I have a boost leak because all I need to do is shake my MBC ( i don't even need to disconnect it) and I will have 22 PSI for a week or so. I would like to know how I clean out my MBC.

the internals are dirty. there is a ball in there that regulates the boost. it needs to be cleaned and oiled up

Ok , I didnt read the "shake-n-bake" part , Just sounds funny that you change parts and then you loose boost . I still think you should Know if there any leaks , not guess ..... Take the mbc apart use brake-clean and some WD40 and see if that helps any
