GT42R vs GT35R

How much power are you looking to make with your EVO? Do any of you plan on running a GT42R setup? I believe AMS (775WHP) and ISP Racing (809WHP) are using this turbo. How streetable is this turbo, or is just for street/drag EVOs? I believe a couple of daily drivers are going to be utilizing this turbo, Supras beware!

The GT35R is ideal for 99.999% of street driven evos - IMHO its the perfect turbo for the 2.0 L

For those who want something extra the GT40R may be just the ticket - not as massive as the 42 but it has a very streetable power band and resonable spool up

Here is my 40R dyno sheet

Yeah the 42 is NOT streetable in any way shape or form for a 2.0 liter. Maybe a 2.3 or 2.4 with some nitrous. Other than that the 35 and 40 are almost too big themselves!

is anyone currently selling turbo manifolds for the GT40R's? or does it still need to be customized?
i think if this happens alot of people would go for something larger than the 35R because alot of people are impressed with the results of the 40R and 42R on 2L engines

If your going to put a turbo this big on your Evolution you should have Full-Race built you a manifold. They design the manifold around the specific turbo and their manifolds will allow you to get the most out of such a large turbo.
