301.6 whp dyno Mustang 05 MR

I am opening this topic just to hear from you what you guys think. My friend Edwin just came back from the Vividracing Dyno day but he keeps saying that he is not too happy with the results. I say that 301.6 whp on a Dyno Mustang are great numbers on 91 Oct..

He made 301.6whp on a DynoMustang and 292ft/lb of torque on 91oct, his mods are:

05 GG MR

-Outlet Pipe,Downpipe,Catdelete Pipe,Ti Catback,Filter,Intake Pipe,Intercooler housing,Camshafts 264,Head Studs,255LPH Fuel Pump,Fuel Rail,MR BOV,Grounding Kit,Sparkplug Cables,E Boost Controller.
- Lower Arm Bars,Front Pillowball Camber Plates,23mm Rear Sway Bar,Rear Endlinks,Lower Springs,Harness Bar,Rear Strut Bar with V-Brace,Trunk Bar.Complete Suspension Bushing.

yeah he should be hitting more than that... I've hit that you can hit 300 whp with just an exhaust, drop in filter, boost controller, and a good tune, did he get a tune or flash?

Are you sure your friend was on 91 octane (which I doubt) and a mustang dyno not a dynojet?

93 octane makes a big difference so if it 93 he should have made more hp. Good numbers for pisstane 91.

he got the custom Dynoflash done by Al back in May. Do you guys think that Phoenix elevation has anything to do?

I am 100% positive he was on 91oct because that was the first thing I asked him, besides that me and him choose to have our cars tuned on 91oct when Al came to Tucson to do our tunning.

We tested our cars(mine and his) and from a roll we are always even, he also traps identical speeds 110mph at the track. We tested our cars" in a private road" from a roll from 40-130 and we are side by side.

I think the numbers are great for 91 **** water gas.

Dan, whoa, you're missing the 2 most important variables that he listed:

1) MUSTANG DYNO (you are quoting Dynojet numbers)

2) 91 OCTANE (you are quoting 93 octane numbers)

Another factor is the 3100' of altitude...

sorry man, I'm a newbie to the whole EVO scene and am trying to learn quickly. I guess I could understand the difference in octanes creating more HP and the altitude too. Buy should all dynos be equal? I mean if one gives you a better HP wouldnt you want to use that for bragging rights?

Hi Wilson1,

I just copied and pasted this from www.evolutionmr.net

http://evolutionmr.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=37

so based on the referenced link above a jump from 214whp to 301.6whp is no joke. I maintain that 301whp on a Mustang Dyno is a heck of an achievement

Dan628,

Not at all, some Dynos drag the 2500pound drums, other spin more freely, the dynojet being the one that always shows the most hp but for most of the people in this forum you would impress just by showing the highest number on the dynojet, everyone knows how much of a difference one dyno might diferentiate from others.

we should all surf into www.vividracing.com for a couple of minutes and see waht they have to say about their dyno, perhaps they will be posting the EVO dyno day tonight..

The Phoenix elevation?!?! You're kidding I hope...

We are lower than Tucson. The elevation in Chandler, AZ (where VIVID is located) is only 1250 ft...

Those numbers seem right to me. You're not going to boost egos with 91 pump gas, and not when it's 105 degrees outside either.

IMO, if he wanted big numbers he should've put in some race gas and cranked up the boost.

NAUCRX,

You know me and you know Edwin from AZlancers correct? (I am evomr at azlancers), do you think he did that bad like he says?, He told me a few minutes ago that we was hoping at least 325-330whp.
I think that is way too much..

The numbers are very good for the mods listed. Consistant with many others on a Mustang dyno.

Always be wary of dnyo numbers, and especially companies that brag XX hp because the run could have been on 2wd dyno on c16 race gas.

The trend works itself out like this.

1. Dyno dynamics-usually displays the lowest amount of hp (this dyno is not for bragging rights used by Vishnu Tuning)

2. Mustang dyno-reads about 10-15% lower than a dynojet (bushur racing just gone one installed)

3. Dynojet-dyno that most shops use (used by Turbo-trix racing)

All three dynos work fine just depends on your budget and needs.

(check out the edit)
