Same here!

has your car been in any accidents?

Since the dealer cant help me (Sheehy Mitsubishi in Waldorf Maryland...a bunch of rude retards) Im going to do another search...and then get a manual like Chiltons and try to figure this out before it gets serious and may cause an accident!

I had the same "tick" it only happened when in 1st or 2nd when reaching full boost or when taking off from a dead stop. Try and take it to a local mechanic who can put it on a lift. My friend owns a station in CT and what he did to fix the problem was tighten the actual axel nut one rotation( or a little bit then test the car). It definitely helped! I may get it tightened a little more as now I hear it every so often where before it was everytime from a decent launch and full boost in first and second. In order to tighten the axel nut, they remove the wheel then a pin that keeps it from turning, then tighten and replace the pin. They then put the wheel back on and with any luck it will be fixed( the guy that tightened mine said he could go further, but to try this for a while). I think the problem is a slight amount of play in the axel that needs to be tightened over time. Just my 2 cents. I hope this helps you guys, the noise WAS driving me nuts when it happened all the time, now it only slightly irritates me when it happens. Oh, and it only happens maybe 1 out of 10-15 times now and I really have to listen for it, before he tightened it it happened each time. BTW my car is stock with a flash and only 7000 miles.
Stay safe,
Punisher

No accidents for my car *knock on wood*

Though I do think it is related to the axles. Thanks Punisher, I'll def look into that.

I hope this helps you guys, it took the mechanic who is from Saudi Arabia about 45 minutes to find the source of the noise( and he worked on Evos over in Saudi). We checked everything the Brembos, the diffs etc... Then he says let me try one more thing, that is when he tightened the nut. It was on the drivers side, and like I said I really have to try to make it make the tick noise now, but in general it never happens. I don't want to press my luck so I may leave it as is, I know how to fix the slight noise I have very infrequently now, so it will be a 5 minute fix. I think this forum is great, and I can't wait to see if this fixes your problems... let me know.
Stay safe,
Punisher

just an idea. could it be the ABS ring, the one with lil teeth? something is rubbing against them and makes the ticking? worth checking out.

Awesome! ...Is there anyway you can describe in a little more detail on how to tighten this nut or where the pin is located once the wheel is off the car? Thanks!

pull the wheel off..... there is a large nut with a cotter pin through it take the pin out tighten. very important to .... MAKE SURE YOU PUT THE PIN BACK IN!!!..... you should use a new cotter pin from any hardware store will have them.

IIRC Axle nut torque is somewhere around 114 ft. lbs.
So that thing needs to be TIGHT!
