Question Who builds the best engines?

Sup EvoM?

Who do you guy’s recon to be the best engine builder?
If you where to order a complete new engine, fully built with high quality internals and all that stuff, who would you turn to and why?

My gold’s are a bullet proof motor that can be daily driven with a low MPG but still rip up the tarmac on the nights

The motor will have a Full Race Stage3GT (GT35R) turbo kit installed.

Try Norris designs. They are on your side of the pond at least.

Norris and RC Engineering in the UK are two well known places that would be the closest to you. One of the places here in the US might be cheaper.

There was another company "extreme" something or another. They used to be Ralliart UK but, changed names. There is also another company that builds the FQ400 engines also located in the UK. They are the same company that builds Mitsu's WRC engines.

This is what I was thinking to =)
What do you think of RnR, don't they make a 4G64 2.4l motor?

you want the best for your evo it dont get any better the TOMIE or JUN RACING. ive seen both set ups on stock turbo and the numbers are shocking. but for the amount of money its going to cost u its not worth getting unless your going to have the car for the rest of your life and never go past 800 hp.

The JUN 2.2l kit would be nice but as you say they are way over priced
I think Buschur takes about $4900 for a compleat bottom end (including the core), 2.26l with JE pistons and Crower rods + 1650 for the head work. That's allmost the same price as the JUN kit alone costs..

AMS also makes some really nice engines. Their shop car is pushing almost 800 whp, so that has to tell you something.

I think you'll get a better bang for your buck with either Buschur or AMS compared to some of the overseas companies (Norris, Jun, etc.).

Here is a list to start with:

AMS: www.automotosports.com

Buschur: www.buschurracing.com

Road/Race: www.4g63.com

Magnus: www.mangusmotorsports.com

JAM: http://www.jacksonautomachine.com/

All of the above tuners, specialize in 4g63s. I would recommend speaking with them regarding what you are looking to do, as they will guide you to what they recommend. Each builder has different opinions on what works and what they like and you can then make up your mind. Things like rod lenght and piston designs.

Hope this helps.

Well, you live in Sweden, so throw 99% of the responses out!

DHL will ship an engine from the US to an EU country for around $1200. Obviously that is ridiculous. So find a local machine shop to build your engine and purchases the individual parts you need from a vendor. Buschur, as advertised in another post, will sell you a stroker kit for around $2300 with billet rods, custom pistons, stroker crank and everything else you'll need. Add shipping and machining/assembly to the final cost.

Cost door to door from a major US city to Stockholm should be around $1.25- $1.50 per lb with a good forwarder, excluding duties taxes and clearance.

If you want to go DHL, get to their Danza's division. They'll be a lot less than the courier division.
