smc alky kit hardware

This is the only hardware (that I could find) that was included with my kit. I believe this piece mounts to the pump, it looks like I am missing my nossle. Am I right, or a retard..lol

I'm assuming this is the lastest kit. Will be getting mines today. I thought the gauge was mounted to the IC for easier viewing??

EVOMIZ,

Did you test the kit before installing? Once install did you test it? If so what fluid.

Thanks

Well, I see what you are saying, but are you supposed to install that whole piece onto your UICP? If so, the nossle would be pointing straight up to the top of the inside of the UICP. Going by the pics on the dynoflash forum, you are supposed to point the nossle to the center of the pipe (see below)

sure looks like it would be spraying against the opposite wall with the way it is setup... The older kits had an elbow, maybe the new ones do not? I'm sure Al will be on here shortly to give you some pointers...

The pic you're showing is the old version. I believe the new version is different but you're right. I would think there's a 90 elbow.

The little thing on the right(nozzle), is the only thing that goes into the intercooler pipe. The washer and the rubber ring are supposed to seal it from the inside. the t-fitting, guage, check valve and AN adatper fitting go on the outside and hook up to the SS braided line.

Smackdaddy is correct the older ones had a different nozzle.

http://www.caprarolaracing.com/pics/misc/DSCF0014.JPG This is a picture of mine, I changed the T-fitting to a SS and welded it to the UIP. But the layout is still the same.

You can mount that whole assembly on the underside of the pipe for stealth. Which I think most other people do. Though I race and I need everything quickly accessible. Everything under the hood is all business.

Enjoy the Alky, I know I do.

I thought the idea of having the gauge there was to keep an eye on it. Not sure how you'll see it mounted underside.

Also what type of fluids are you guys using. Any HP difference from using 100% methanol vs denature alky. Some say it matters and some say it doesn't so just wanted more opinions.

I'm running 100% methanol. For a few reasons. One the extra power and two it's a lot cheaper. It's 2.80 a gallon, denatured is 11 a gallon at Home Dept. Even split in half its 5.50 a gallon. I'm not sure why anyone would run it, unless you have the old pumps that can't or don't go to the track enough. I normally pick up 5 gallons when I go to run. So the entry cost is null.

With what he has pictured it's setup to mount upside down, look at the gauge. It might be a little hard to see though, unless you have a short routed UIP.

you only really need the gauge once, thats when you hook it up....so you can make sure its spraying the right pressure with the test button.

after that, you shouldn't really need the gauge again.

is anyone running theirs with the stock upper IC pipe? i just switched back to it from my RNR and had to put the nozzle further from the throttle body....and it doesn't really make my car die when holding 3krpms in nuetral and hitting the test button. I have to be more like 5k when i hit the test button to notice the car studdering and breaking up.....
