question about knock sensor causing car to stall

just incause you guys didn't see this post about knock sensor https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...4&page=2&pp=15

i did some test to similate knock and some data logging. i really want to hear some input form the experts as to what was going on when i dropped the hood and the car sputter base on my data log.

please reply in the other post so others can see.

do you mean unbolting it from the block or just disconnect the plug? what would that do? do you think it's just a bad connection in the plug? this is a common case on evo 8, i don't think all of them could be attributed to a bad plug connect. it must be something else that's going on.

I think he means that you will isolate the cause of the stall. If the knock sensor is unplugged, and the car still stalls, then logically it is the MAS.

I am not saying that's what you should do...only clarifying the post...

ok, i know what you mean now. but wouldn't the ecu through a code if i disconnect the knock sensor? i know it does on honda engine equiped with knock sensor. unless i unbolt it from the block and leave it connected, but i don't think i'm going to try that, too much work.

That is why I included the disclaimer :> ..I don't know if it will throw a code...and how the ECU will react. My guess is...not good.
