i was following behind my buddi (he was driving my evo and i was on his R6)
and when he would get on it, a puff of greyish black smoke come out the exhaust ,why is my car smoking it only has 15000 miles on it
ooo i did it when i bounced it off the revlimeter the other day too

 

as u said it's black smoke and all stock evos do it when you go WOT. They do it as they run rich from the factory and the computer dumps a lot of fuel when you go WOT and hence unburnt gas = black smoke

please correct me if i'm wrong

 

+1 He is right the evo runs rich from the factory and that is the cause of the smoke

 

Black smoke = Fuel
White smoke = coolant
Bue-ish/grey = oil

look at your mods: maybe your seeing more smoke since you have an intake and no tune therefore it running even more rich. Not to mention it probably idles not too greatly either with your vta.
