TT doesn't use a mustang dyno.

They use a Dynojet, which would read higher than a MD. What's your point?

The point is that G20 blurted out some numbers that have no bearing on this thread, since he was on a Dynojet, although none of us knew that. We were talking about Mustang Dyno numbers and he just interjected with meaningless numbers, since no one knew what kind of dyno it is, and since the mods and numbers aren't relative to the thread originator's claim.

The thread is not about mustang or any particular dyno. It is just about the number of the 05 evo. I told my dynoed number to see if there's any comparision, that's all. The similar mods on the 03 and 04 evos on this dyno is around 250 to 260 so yes the 05 does seem to be a little more power when modded.

Now I see that the mustang dyno does read lower so this car is making good power then.

Every dyno thread where #s are bragged about is _certainly_ about what type of dyno was used because WHP numbers by themselves mean NOTHING... There is a huge range of numbers possible even on the same car with the great variety of dynos and methods. A stock Evo could put down anywhere from 180 to 240whp depending on the dyno so yes, the particular dyno type is a very important when bragging about #s...

So what is your point. Try to lecturing something.

I'm not bragging about the number since it's low and nothing to brag anyway. I just throw in the number to compare the similarity with the thread number but didn't pay attention to the mustang dyno so I corrected that. This kind of "try to be lecturing" is creating all kind of arguments here. And no thanks.

umm... that is complete bs lol That dyno is inflated. When i baselined my car there was an mr that put down only 209 right before me.. then i made 280/281. no doubt the 05s are strong though.. 230 would be a very nice pull.

I'm not try to be lecturing at all, nor am I saying that you're bragging. I'm saying in general that ANY dyno numbers posted on this site must be taken with a grain of salt, and they also must be fully explained for anyone to even care about them, which includes mods, tuning and most important: Dyno type. Otherwise, you may as well just randomly shout out numbers...

I've put down 270, 282 and 300 with the same mods on 3 different dynos. Like I said above, the track tells the truth.

all i can add is my 05 compared stock to my 03, there is no comparison... handling or power... but i do find it nice that stock, the car runs 22psi to 5700 rpm falling to 19 to 6500.. and my motor isnt even fully broken in yet... i deff. think this will be a better car.. and no i have not put any engine mods off of my 03 yet... just rims and susp. and brakes.

I believe in what he said very much, different dynos give different numbers, so I believe that dynos are better for camparing gains of new mods on you own car (as long as you use the same dyno and same car data with reasonably similar weather conditions) then comparing your car to another car because even if the other car uses the same type of dyno (mustang vs mustang), the dyno itself, the weather/heat in dyno area or the car data (curb weight/HP@50MPH) might make the number vary, even on two stock 05s on two different dynos of the same type. But, all dynos are a form of measurement, even if there all different, you just have to use the same exact dyno (same type and exact same one) when compare your car w/ new mods or your car to another car. Its like every dyno (even the same brand) is a different "ruler for measureing performance", so just make sure you always use the same ruler.

I just dynoed on a Mustang Dyno yesterday and pulled 263 at the wheels. My car has the following mods:

Turboback
Intake
264/264 cams
BOV
FMIC
ECB - 22psi
Custom Tune (Al)

I thought I would have pulled more?? However, I did ask what stock 03/05's were doing on this dyno and the response was about 195 & 210.

So, I don't feel too bad knowing I about 70whp more than stock 03 now. Thought I would be a little more but oh well. I'll figure it out. The 280 something someone pulled earlier in this thread is not accurate. At least based on what I just learned the past few days.

Was that on Buschur Racings Mustang dyno? My 05 RS made 210 on that dyno bone stock. Looking at your numbers, your car would have made right around 300 wheel HP on Daves old 2WD dynojet dyno, or around 295 on Godspeed's AWD dynapack dyno.

Later,

Keith
