Angry CEL w/ Ultimate Racing test pipe?

I have an Ultimate Racing test pipe that i was using on my 03. I got a CEL like maybe 2 times for almost a year on my 03. I have put it on my 05 and within 1k miles i have gotten the CEL 3 times already, wtf? Its installed properly and everything. Ive had to reset the Ecu 3 times and i dont know why it keeps coming on. I pulled the code and it said failed circuit 02 sensor #2 which is the cat. What can i do? Should i call UR?

I also have the UR 3 inch test pipe, i didnt even bother putting in the CEL fix thing because i knew it would come on anyway. i dont really mind the CEL in my cluster but if it bothers you id say call them and see what they can do

If it is really bothering you do a search for "spark plug fouler" and you will find a very easy mod to take care of ur CEL. I have a 05 with a rsr dp which deletes teh cat and after about 300 miles I would get a CEL.

thats a suprised.... ive had my UR test pipe for a few years now and never got a CEL.
Is it possible that your 02 is bad?
and did you install the pipe backwards?
the bung should be facing the front of the car.

The solution is simple. Remove the rear O2 and put in an O2 simulator.

Its a new car so i know the 02 sensor isnt bad. The bung is facing towards the front to the passenger side. I had it on my 03 before and i never had this problem, well i did but it was 2 times in almost a whole year.

I know I mentioned the O2 sim as the solution...

But just to add to the responses, I run the rear factory O2 in a Magnaflow 3" test pipe with no O2 sim and I have no CEL.

I'd check the wires...99% of the time it is due to improper install.

I have never had one of them cause a CEL

Perhaps you need to space the O2 sensor further from the exhaust stream. I just got the UR HFC in the mail and it came with the cel fix. I noticed that the cel fix they send is shorter than the 4002 anti-fouler plugs that you attach together to space the O2 sensor from the exhaust stream. A lot of people who use one anti-fouler plug rather than two do get cel lights. Try useing two instead and see what happens. It is possible that the 05 EVO is more sensitive to HFC/TP and you need to space the O2 sensor further from the exhaust stream.

I will tell you how my HFC turns out when I install it tomorrow.
