Hm, seems like you and me are in the same boat. I am also stock turbo pressing 25psi. I am on the stock DV with no problems ( that I know of because I haven't pressure tested my stocker) but gauging from my boost readings I see very little taper maybe 1-2 psi.

Have you checked for boost leaks yet? Have you switched back to stock for experimental purposes?

okay so in first gear you are losing 7 psi? from 26 to 19psi ? and 5th gear 28 down to 21psi? And you can hear it surge ?

Surge is common with aftermarket BOV's . now as far as boost loss goes I'm stumped as to why it wouldn't be reversed, meaning 1st holds and 5th tapers. because that would be normal. I thought I read somewhere around here that first isn't supposed to hold peak boost. I could be wrong.

Kilterman, the problem here is that a boost leak like that doesn't just show up through a loss of boost pressure on your boost gauge. What happens is the BOV is DEFINITELY leaking out a lot of that boost, since it leaks at 13psi, so the turbo is having to push EXTRA HARD to maintain the extreme boost levels you are pushing. So, while you're trying to push 25psi, which is at the upper extreme of the turbo's efficiency already, your stock turbo is actually having to work hard enough to make 28psi (for example), which means it's blowing mostly hot air, instead of making serious power.

If I were you, I'd put on at least a JDM MR DV, then set your boost to spike no higher than 24psi in 4th, and I bet your car would run better than ever. Only problem is you need a logger, need some track time, need some self tuning, and you need to not rely just on the butt dyno (need dyno or track to verify).

As for the thread originator, you shouldn't be pushing that much boost in any gear on the stock turbo. You're just blowing hot air, and you're going to break the turbo pretty soon. If you don't care, then get a Greddy Type S with the single spring mod or an HKS SSQV.

Get the FORGE RS RECIRCULATING VALVE. I just got mine from GSC and it's amazing!!! My MR diverter valve would top out at 25.2psi before it started leaking. As soon as I put the Forge in, I set my Greddy EBC to 27.8psi and took it for a run. The forge held up perfectly, I stopped the car and checked the max boost and it said 27.8psi. I haven't tried to turn it up any higher than that yet, but the spring it 2 turns away from being all the way SOFT and it easily held the boost. If you're looking at getting a BOV and don't want to have to buy another one later after more upgrades...get the FORGE.
