Dyno conversion factors.

Need baseline numbers from dyno's around the country!

Using my new 05 RS's results on David Buschurs new Mustang dyno I was able to derive the following results. Realize that ALL conversion factors like this have some error in them.... but they will give a good general idea for comparison.

Using one bone stock 05 EVO results is a very small data pool, but that is all the data we have so far My car bone stock with just over 1,500 miles on it made 210 HP at the wheels and 213 lb-ft of torque. Using that information we have a rough conversion factor for comparison. Assuming the car is healthy and making "normal" power levels at the crank shaft of 276 HP peak we get a conversion factor of .76 In other words, take the at the wheels dyno number and devide it by .76 to get an estimate of crank HP. With David Buschurs old dyno the factor was .875 based on his 04 RS's baseline results of 237 wheel HP at the front wheels. With my old 03 EVO bone stock on Godspeeds AWD dynapack dyno I made 232 wheel HP. With 271 crank HP on the 03's that gives us a conversion factor of .856 for Dan at Godspeed's AWD dynapack dyno.

So here are the conversion factors so far:

Buschur Mustang dyno / .76 = estimated crank HP
Buschur 2WD dynojet / .875 = estimated crank HP
Godspeed dynapack / .856 = estimated crank HP

Give me some good baselines (Shiv, turbotrix, dynoformance, and anyone else we can get baselines for) and I will come up with a definitive conversion factor for each dyno to another dyno.... sort of like shiv's old "how big is your HP" exel spreed sheet.

Thanks,

Keith McDonnell

Since nobody is posting new information I will try and sift through the "super evo dyno thread" looking for bone stock car results, and get some stats going.

Well, I am through page 5 now. Amazing how many people do not say what shop they dynoed at in that thread.... half of them don't even say what kind of dyno it was, or don't mention weather they are modified or stock!

On the Mustang dyno at Full Function Technology (Union City, CA) my mostly stock 05 GSR posted 232HP/233TQ. The only mods I have/had was JDM MR DV & HKS drop-in filter. Running california 76 91oct.

I am only using bone stock car numbers because you never know how much power a particular mod adds.
