Supposedly its not "that bad" and you don't have to replace the fluid every ten minutes. I'm intrigued, anyone else wanna share scepticism?

A Dogbox is great for any type of racer. This tranny can be used on and off the street. There is nothing like knowing you are going to get it in gear. You must be sure you have the clutch set up right or you will smoke a tranny. This is what a dog box gear set looks like after 40 pass on it. http://www.dsmtimes.org/shepherd/40passesdogbox.JPG for the price Shepherd racing is selling them at, you can’t go wrong.

Dog box is not exactly easy to drive on the street if you don't know how to drive one.. The dog gears replace the syncros so you have to rev match all down shifts.

Wow, 40 passes. I'm sure they weren't 12 second passes either. I'd like to know the cost of one of these badboys too...

I’m not sure on pricing. I would guess around 8k as for specs I’m sure John will chime in on that. The dog box in the picture has been in his car all season. I think there was one 13 sec pass on it. lol

As "neat" as they are, there are a select very few who won't tire of a dog box on the street... and I'm not one of them. However, I keep getting drawn to the idea again like a moth to a flame, and I would probably burn if I went there.

I wonder if the ikeyea (sp?) shifter would help with engagement.

Unless you are breaking trannies I wouldn't even consider it. It will just break other things like half shafts
