I was concerned like you before I got one but after having it installed I love it. As long as your installer set it up for you all you have to do is dial the boost up or down as needed.

It works like a charm.

I have one in my car, and it works fine for the most part. I still say get a MBC or some other EBC because the profec B II is just way to hard to work with and took me 3 months to just get it to work decent.

interesting, but wouldnt it be better to monitor it from a electronic unit rather from not knowing. i mean i will be installing a boost gauge very soon. you know what i mean

Oh GReddy, you have done us so so so wrong.

I bought a Profec-B II based on the fact that most people loved the Profec B. The install wasn't very hard, typical boost controller junk, whatever. The Profec B II holds boost fine, but the amount of fine tuning you need to do to this dumb unit isn't even worth it. By the time I finally got mine to stop spiking, I then get an issue where it won't read boost for a good 30-60 seconds of driving when I turn my car on out of the blue. GReddy replaced a part, but whatever, I had to battle with them for a good month until they even did ****. I am switching soon to an HKS EVC and not looking back.

I know every car is different, but lets see some settings....19-21psi settings? btw, I'm in the same boat...it's a pain in the *** to tune it...been running up and down the hwys to get a good steady boost tune, but somehow I'm not getting it...shoots up to 19-20psi and falls down to about 12-14psi....

For those who got it to work good...lets see some settings on the profec-b?

they actuaslly stopped making it because of its difficulty to use. They (Greddy) went back to original design of the profec B with the Profec B type S. it has 3 knobs and is simple to use. I'd get that, since profec b spec 2's are a thing of the past. I stock, sell and have used both and I like the type s much better. only thing the spec 2 has over it is the LCD display so you really dont need a boost gauge

The boost gauge in the profec b II is very innacurate.

My experience with the Profec B II

Ok guys, here's my 50cent :-p

This thing worked wonderful for me after getting it tuned and dynoed at Twilight perforance in SoFL.
The problem came when someone must have messed with it.
The thing is you can set the Inital boost, Gain and Max boost.
If there is too much of a difference between Max Boost and Gain or the gain is too different....BLAH BLAH BLAH you till get spiking.
You can learn alot if you RTFM (Read the manual).

I have been messing with this thing for a while and I think its a great B/C but you have to know what you are doing to get it perfect.

Bottom line is ...
Yes its a pain to tune, but there is a reason for that. Its a Tuners tool.
I recommend getting a professional to tune it. I'm gonna throw in the towel and get them to teach me while I'm at it.
** I wont be trading it in for any other brand.

Peace.
