White Rabbit vs TME turbo dyno comparision

Hey guys,

We recently had a customer dyno tuned his MR with a White Rabbit w/ AEM EMS and I wanted to compare this with the TME dyno graph with similar supporting mods. Please note that these two cars weren't dyno in the same day therefore the temp might have been slighty different.

WR mods:
3" TBE
WR
AEM EMS
HKS 280 cams

White Rabbit on 91 CA pump:

White Rabbit on 100:

TME mods:
3" TBE
TME
Custom Flash
HKS 272 cams
upgraded FMIC

TME on 91 CA pump:

TME on 100 octane:

Thanks,
Tom

and that makes another dynosheet that doesn't speak fondly of the WR turbo

they're pretty close. Taking into account different day/weather conditions, 2 of these are pretty close. If I remember correctly, TME is cheaper?

Actually the WR does better on pump, but there are too many questions to really make any comparisons.

Hopefully Malibu Jack will get his comparison done soon and we'll have a true comparison.

The area under the TME curve seems to be fatter than the WR.....anyone care to explain this?

91 octane timing & boost

20 psi peak taper to 16 psi redline

100 octane timing & boost

25 psi peak taper to 18 psi redline

mods

AEM w/ MAF tuned by me
custom 3 inch TBE
HKS 280 cams (these suck below 3k rpm)
HKS timing gears
Hallman MBC
WR turbo

right now this is a rough tune. it can definately make more. 1st problem is taking care of the taper. this is going to be accomplished by changing the boost control and wastegate actuator.

my friend has experimented with a different brand MBC than the hallman you guys love, and after reviewing his datalogs on his AEM his boost holds solid.

in the future i'm going to be adding a garrett custom fabbed intercooler, Map sensor, 880 injectors, my special race gas not (c16 or vp import), and max the boost.

while these numbers might not be very *big* there aren't a whole lot of EVO's that break 300 whp on this dyno.

I read somewhere that there was a mod available for the wr to keep it holding boost rather than tapering, I'm sure if it held 25psi(which that turbo should have no problem holding) to redline it would make a world of difference...

i ahve a feeling the evo 9 turbo may be the way to go as far as cheap turbo upgrades.. lets see hom much power those make.

I still dont think the T.M.E. adds that much power though. i made 296 on 91 octane on the vishnu dyno(almost identical numbers) with 272 cams, 10.5 hotside, exhaust and xede.

this is incorrect... you misinterpret the steeper slope to be more area... it's not... look carefully and you'll see that the wr levels off much faster which means it got higher faster and stayed there. it also ends higher which means it's area is more.

i don't understand what you people are complaining about... this is not uber racegas maps... and it's about 20hp more... for similar cars... just wr difference....

It looks like the WR drops off later than the TME.
Around 7400 for the WR and around 6600 for the TME... that doesn't look like a bad thing.

What is that boost controller that you speak of which holds boost better?

Actually, the curves look about the same to me. It's just that whoever was running the car on the dyn ran the WR up to 7400 and only ran the TME up to ~7000. Both turbos have peak horsepower close to 6600 RPM.
