PROBLEM SOLVED!

I did some investigating, switching out parts here and there. Test driving other Evos which have similar setups.

I 1st took off the filter, run the car with out 1, and noticed that it still hit boost cut but the check engine light didn't go on and I was able to get the boost upto 1.3 kgcm2. Then I put back the air filter and took off the piping, and disconnected the battery to reset the ecu. I was able to crank up the boost to 1.4kgcm2 without any problems!!! I am still using the K&N air filter that came with the typhoon kit, but I have ordered a Apexi kit and a HKS kit to try out.

Conclusion, I am very disappointed with the typhoon intake and would recommend to anyone would is going to mod their Evo more than the usual intake, exhaust, etc... To not get this!
