No rattles here,,,,,,,,,knock on wood.

I just hope this car keeps as tight as it is now 10-20-30,000 miles down the road.

p.s. shouldnt we see this car tested for real in march magazines?
it should put all this 180whp conservative crap to rest then.

Ahh, now we have three people (including myself) that have heard the wierd rattle. Mine sounds like it is a slight creak, or rattle. Somewhere on the passenger side like the dash or top right of window. It is somewhere over there, and only at certain speeds. I will try and detect this and listen so we can all pinpoint it!

EXACTLY!!! That is the sound that I hear the most at ALL speeds..

At first I thought it was the rear view mirror or sunroof shade, but it sounds more metallic than that..

When I bring it in for my oil change at 1,000 miles, I will have the car gone over and the rattle taken care of. I don't care if they have to DUCT TAPE the fricken inside of the headliner, dash area or whatever...

Ooops. What ideas have I just given the service department??!!

Porcaro ...don't read this post!!

think you have to accept the fact the the Evo is based on the Lancer platform, a $15k car. Taking that as the basis for the Evo and then stiffing the cars chasis is going to cause rattles in other areas of the car that have not been reworked (mainly the cabin and upper areas of the car).

You got that wrong, they took a $30,000 car and made it a $15,000 car.

I have the front and rear psgr side rattle/creek too. Had it from day one. The dealership had no idea of what specifically caused the problem. What has helped though is re-securing the rubber door moldings. I apply some pressure and it has helped the problem.

I also get a pretty audible creak from the sun roof area when the slide is open but the window is kept closed. Not a major issue though.

Hope this helps.

Squeeks, creeks, rattles... yeah I got 'em. I think unless you drive the car like a little old lady going to church on Sunday (and maybe even then) it's not a question of if you have noise, but when you're going to.

Turn up the stereo or floor it for about 5 seconds. You'll either not hear the noise or forget about it... trust me.

I'll have to agree with the above, I noticed more noise from the dash but mainly when it got really cold this fall. Then after the car heated up it was gone.

Same squeak/rattle sound from the passenger side door panel and or glovecompartment. Tried of numbre of things but can't seem to get rid of the rattles. I think they will be impossible to get rid of in a car with tht much plastic interior and a stiff suspension.

I have so many rattles and weird noises in my car, but I've gotten used to it.

Ear plugs help on long trips.

My biggest squeaks come in the cold weather. I have one in the dash, 2 in either a-pilar, and one somewhere in the rear, maybe the headlining. My car squaks a lot, even compared to my old mustang and my friends 93 camaro. Its annoying. Incidently, once tha cabin warms up from the heater, the squeaks go away for the most part.

Could the car be firmer than hell in the low area, but flexy in the upper??

It could be the cold, but I'm not used to hearing ANY rattles in a new car before...

I'm wondering if any hew EVO owners are hearing the same..
I got that creek when it was very very cold out the Jan/Feb I got my car in early 2005. It immediately went away with the warmer weather and Ive had some very cold spells here already in NJ and it has not come back.

I am however getting a rattling inside the passenger side dash, which is annoying me greatly!
