K & N

ok I see as a mod a lot of people say k&n drop in is it a cost reason that you didn't go with an intake like aem wai, injen wai etc.

I did it because I wanted to stay stock appearing and the performance is still good (not sucking in hot air from the engine bay).

No it is a TUNE question, must tune the cones, as it will mess up the vortex, that the stock MAF needs to see. I lost 12 AWHP with the cone, and NO tune, and it also ruined my MAF sensor. stock box is good to 600AWHP. F1 cars dont use a cone, they have a box, Miss the woosh sound from the turbo, but stay with the box.

I got it last week. I "feel" it got little faster. Not that much obviously.
I didn't want to go mushroom type since I heard it's not going to do anything good unless you adjust your air-fuel. I'm not ready for that yet.

wow I am very suprised with all you answers I totally was going to go with either aem or injen wai I haven't found many cai all wai I found 1 cai I think I might go with the drop in does anybody have before and after dynos maybe 1 ort 2 whp with the drop in compared to the wai

do the base flash first if u haven't yet...does not cost much and nothing changed visually but about 20 whp gained and other good benefits...

you dont have to tune the cones and it wont ruin your maf

i just installed the injen intake and upper ic pipe last night, drove it today and there was a noticable difference in pull, granted i'm getting a tune, but after cams probably. Plus... it sounds awesome :-)

It did ruin mine, freak issue probably, but it did MINE. And YES you do have to tune the cone! do your research!

i am saying that you dont have to tune to run an aftermarket intake
but tuning will get the most benefit out of it. its just not a requirement
