Turbo kits for EVO 5 or 6?
#2
Try http://www.autoracing.nu. That's Prospeed's website. They have performance packages for the Evo that range from 350hp to 600+. It'll take more than a bolt-in turbo kit to get up there in hp reliably.

Such a conversion will require more than a turbo kit. It will also focus on internal modifications to the engine, modification of the drivetrain, control systems for the turbo, engine and drivetrain, modification of the suspension and quite probably some chassis strengthening. A brake upgrade would be useful as well. In short, for 600bhp, take the price you paid for your car and double it.

The gearbox is stronger than the clutch. The clutch will need replacing very early on but if you're heading for 600bhp you'll need to replace both I think. I've always maintained that the transmission etc. should be able to take more than you actually intend to chuck at it.

Ok, well 600HP, will just be too much and plus the idle on it, would probably be horrible. All Im aiming for is a "street fighter" kind of car. I want a very well balanced car in all areas. Both straight line and cornering with excellent handling and power to back it up, streetable too(dont car if it legal or not :P).
So obivously 600HP isn't the answer. So perhaps 450-480WHP is more reasonable. I was looking at the HKS GT Series turbo, GT3240 I believe, doesn't seem so bad. Or is that too laggy? can anyone recommend me a turbo that can get 450-480WHP and keep turbo lag to a minimal?

Take the JUN 2.2 stoker kit and keep the original turbo ... Your car will be very fast (420-430 hp) and reliable... don't forget to upgrade the clutch (twin plate should be great). Torque should be around 58mkg ( ) running 2 bar boost !! overboost 2.1 bar
