Bov Gm Maf
Bov Gm Maf
I am just curious I have searched and read alot and I know the problems you get with VTA BOV's with cars with a maf I am just curious my buddy has a camaro that is single turbo and he has the MAF mounted in boost after the BOV and he dosnt have any of the problems of stalling or running rich. So the Mas dosnt get a reading until the BOV has already VTA so would this solve the problem. Why cant we do this also I have seen GM MAF conversions in DSM with maf trans's can this be done in a Evo to or not worth while. I did search so please dont flame me I was just curious if this could solve the problem with the Evo like it did with his camaro. Thanks
ok thanks cause I know the kit for the DSM will run you a little over $230 so if we can do this setup I dont get why I dont see more people do the swap so they can have better flow the sound of a vta and none of the down falls you get from usually doing it
Because the majority of people on this board don't care about sound. They care about speed. And rather than spend 5 bills to vent their DV, they'll spend the money on something that makes power.
Well I have a DSM and I know that the sound of a VTA isnt the only reason to do the mod. If get to loose the crappy stock setup and all of its problems such as tuning, difficult to get it to work with aftermarket intake, restrictive and if you want to make some serious power I know you can run into alot of problems. The swap to the GM MAF may not make a bunch more power but it will alow you to tune easier run a VTA BOV and not have all the stalling intake problems with the stock setup. Thanks for your input
There are several threads on it.. I have a Ford Cobra MAF on my car.. Just make sure to search for Blowthrough MAF or Blow Through MAF
There are a few products out there.. some of them work, some of them don't work very well.. being able to VTA with a blowthrough system is really a side-effect of the technology, but not the reason to run it.. Do your research every solution has its shortcomings so find what you need.
Like said previously.. using a Blowthrough system just to VTA is a huge waste of money.. But if you find you are having alot of tuning issues with the stock sensor, like I had, then you can consider it.
