My prediction is had HKS not had NOB driving the car they would not have won. The car had no ABS, which was our number one downfall. NOB can drive, the guy NEVER hit a cone and got faster every pass in atleast one if not multiple sections of the course. I asked his "agent" about him driving our car but figured Robert would have been extremely hurt by it so didn't follow through. Their car was one of the heaviest cars in the field with no ABS and yet the driver got the car stopped in the shortest time. Yes, the brakes were killer but we didn't have a problem with not enough brakes, as they would easily lock, it was this bad *** behind the wheel of the HKS car. You could here him just jamming gears as he downshifted as he was braking, the sound was unreal. He was the fastest by far through the chicane on every run, his exit speed on the chicane if I remember right was like 25 mph higher than ours. The guy can drive.

Great job, David, and to all the rest of your crew. It made me feel good to know some of the same parts go on my car as on your RS. Congrats, and keep up the good work.

PS. Nice TV cameo.

Once again, let me say, the magazine is called Car and Driver. HKS brought out the best Car with the Best Driver.

Lol Robi - no beef!

I just asked that because if you read the article they make an excuse for the STi b/c the driver had never lauched the car, blah blah!

The braking has nothing to do with Stoptech's. The Stoptech brakes that I have on my RS are unbelievable. They had plenty of stopping power, the car was short on ABS, rubber and someone that could stop a non ABS car from 140 mph.

None of the other Stoptech cars preformed well either. Tires I agree were another factor.

Not meant as an OUCH!, just don't want to blame a perfectly good braking system, obviously the car had plenty of brakes, they locked up without a problem.

When it comes to the braking just looking at the cars and not the drivers the HKS car appears to have the advantage

HKS
Front 6 Piston w/13.6'' x 1.2'' Rotor
Rear 4 Piston w/13.0'' x 1.2'' Rotor
Rear wing
More rubber

Buscher
Front 4 Piston w/ 13.1'' x 1.3'' Rotor
Rear Factory w/ 11.8'' x 0.9'' Rotor
No Rear Wing
Less Rubber
BUT
154lbs lighter

The Buscher car was basically running the HKS Evo's rear brake setup on the front.

Both cars did amazing especially going against the Lotus that are 1000~1200lbs lighter.
Force Fed lotus - 1990lbs - 525 feet braking (Front 4 Piston 12.9'' x 11'' Rotor)
HKS Evo - 3125lbs - 567 feet
Hondata Lotsu - 1935lbs - 594 feet (Stock Brakes)
EZ Street STi - 3309lbs - 615 feet (Front 4 Piston 14.0 x 1.3 Rotor)
Buscher - 2971lbs - 692 feet
