Oh No! Look at my clutch

Hey Guys,

It's a Sunday and I decide to go for a spin. I'm in 4th and taking my time. I dip the pedal slightly and notice that I can hear the rev but I'm not moving any faster so I look down at my boost reading and it's low. I then look at my shifter and it's still in gear and it won't budge.

This was last Sunday. Motor purrrs but no gears engage when the car's on. I can change gears only when motor's off.

Couple days later I'm into the box and this is what I see .......

The inner with springs is ripped completely out. Pressure plate, bearing and everything else is fine. Just the clutch plate gone.

So, what do you think caused this damage? Only had the clutch in about 3 months. (I already have an idea but would appreciate honest feedback.) It WAS a stage 1 Clutch Master set up.

Um...the majority of clutch manufacturers use the same Daikin Clutch parts.

Another guy on this board has a CM stage 3 blow up and ruin his bell housing. Since then CM has upgraded the hubs on their stage 3 to the heavy duty ones

Do you drive with your foot resting on the pedal at all? If not, do you 'slip' the clutch? how about downshifting? Do you rev match or just let the clutch 'feel' its way in?

Any of these could apply.

dude slipping it is not going to break the hub out of the disk. i would say manufacturing error. ACT has been having allot of quality control issues with their disks too. maybe they have the same supplier?

Actually the destroyes CM clutch was made by Exedy. It's imprinted on the disc.

It should be in one piece and neat. The center is ripped completely from the 'outter' part.
