Throw a bag of sand in your intake. Sand blasting.

Yes, I am just kidding.

Don't touch the turbine side with sand paper, you could throw off the balance of thre turbo if you remover metal. Aside from that you shouldn't need to clean the turbine wheel anyway.

i wouldnt touch the AR area of the turbo..but you can clean it if you want to..just some light grit sand paper...i would use my hand to do it..dremel is hard to control in those areas..but it works..just dont take anything off..

I owned 10 turbo cars so far and I had no issues with "cleaning" the turbo, the only thing you can really do is to wipe the intake of the turbo with a rag, there is a lot of oil residual built oftten on the intake of the turbo.

If you are trying to maintain the turbo healthy do this:

Try to keep your air filter clean,
Use Synthetic oil
Get yourself a turbo timer or wait at least 30sec before shutting of the engine
Let the engine warm up in the mornings (don't build boost while the engine is cold)

There is not much cleaning involved on cleaning a turbo, just do the steps that I mentioned to you before and your turbo should run very well

There are some companies that could do a port and polish job like deadbolt enterprises or Forcedperformance etc, etc but that is more like internally.

lol, you should not be affraid to take things apart as long as you know how to properly maintane and piece together. which is why my evo is going to live to see 100 years!

bump from the dead. So the previous owner had a loose breather hose and introduced foreign objects into the turbo(I found out the day after purchasing the car). I cleaned it with a rag and did the best I could to get the dirt and other misc objects out of the intake turbo. Can I spray water into the turbo? Wouldnt that hurt the turbo and/or cause rust?

Do NOT do this.. You do realize those "objects" would be subject to making it into your motor causing damage on your internals.
