Ok, I tried BPR7EIX and BPR8ES.
both worked pretty good on my car. BPR7EIX gave me more power than stock plugs. I gapped it to .29 ( don't use that round gapping tool! you will destroy the tip) I gained like 10 more WHP with that one. Well for BPR8ES, I could give bit more boost than BPR7EIX, so I made even more power than 7. However, at the same boost level, 7EIX gives you more power uner 6500 rpm.
8ES is incredable after 6500rpm. I saw the gain more than 30WHP at that high range.

So can we get someone who knows what they are talking about(like warrtalon) to give a graph of some type, like this:

bpr7es=stock-330hp
br7es=300-350
BRP8ES=350-400
BR8ES=400-450

I know those #s are probably off, but can someone fill it in correctly? Thanks

Im assuming you made these findings on a dyno and on the same day? Care to show your charts?

From personal experience I have tried the stock plugs, BR8ES and im now trying the BPR8ES. With the stock plugs I was throwing the P0300 code at idle caused by the lope of the 272i cam about everyother tank of gas. With the BR8ES gapped at .029, my idle improved slightly and reduced the P0300 dramatically to being triggered only 4 times in 4k miles. The BPR8ES gapped to .029 so far seems to cause the code the most out of the three plugs ive tried and in only 500 miles.

Generally speaking, you should go one step colder for every 100 hp that you add. Stock equivalent is the BPR7ES. BR7ES would in essence be 1/2 step colder, BPR8ES 1 step colder and BR8ES 1 1/2 step colder.

A few other notes that ive gathered by searching this subject, you want to run the hottest plug you can get away with for your setup and with the largest gap. Precision Dyno also recommends to not use 'P' type plugs with turbo applications.

Ive been using BPR8ES for 4000 miles, theyve been great, before I used BPR7EIX. I talked to Al at Dynoflash yesterday because Im going to the dyno on Tuesday and he said to put in BR8ES... I duno if Im going to that though.

Vishnu recommends BR8ES. Gap depends on your ignition system, but I have mine gapped at .24.

call me a skeptic, but i'd like to see some proof of this 30whp gain from changing spark plugs.

You guys are too nice. That's complete BS, unless you were down 30whp to begin with because you had faulty plugs or something and you just gained what you were missing. But we both know you ment to say that it gave you 30 added whp which is complete bs.

NGK BPR8ES's with the gap at .025 is working good all the way to 26 lbs without hesitation.

so what about BPR9ES's? Would those be too much for a fully modded evo still running on the stock turbo? When I say fully modded, i mean fully but the turbo lol... internals, i/e manifolds, ic/pipes, stand alone, hks ignition system too
