Who knows which

On the crankshaft, which of the four marks on the side of the block is tdc?
I'm thinking its the one on the right with the 1 over the T.
Am I right?

I think to find top dead center you have to take off the cam gear cover, then line up the marks on the top of the cam gears....

Normally, that would be correct, but the Evo marks don't line up with the stock gears. You can't use it as a point of reference.

The marks on the engine case for lining up the crankshaft:

The mark on the crank pulley should line up with the mark on the right that has a number one over a T.

T

Hope this helps anyone else.

This was also verified by piston position in the #1 Cylinder.
