Angry Help! 5th gear grinding already

I have an 05 and i was driving home tonight and i noticed a grind after 5k rpms when going to 5ht gear. This is a new car, wtf? It only does it past that rpm, i rarely go to high on rev on 5th. What can i do? Will switching to penzoil syncromesh maybe help with this? Anyone have same problem. I though this issue was fixed for 05's

No, there's a TSB for yours, too. Go get it fixed for free before you mess with the fluids.

That is complete BS. Are they still using the bad parts knowing they will fail?
Does not make any sence! The 05-06's should be perfect! They had 4 years to get it right!

I dont see any TSB's for transmissin issues for the 05'. here is a link for all open TSB's.http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/pr...sb/results.cfm. But deffinately go get it checked out and see what they say. i hope they cover everything for you.

The problem with 5th gear has already been solved for the 05 models.

If you are crunching 5th you can try a different transmission oil and try adjusting the clutch.

The problem is the ratio from 4th - 5th is very wide and it's requires an awful lot of the 5th gear synchronizer if you are trying to fire-off a .2 second shift and sometime it may crunch if you don't time your clutch foot and hand properly.

Did you not read any of the above? Go get it looked at by the dealer.

You still running the OEM clutch? I had some serious issues with 4th gear when I was running an ACT clutch. It often caused me to be locked out of gear when trying to shift above 5000 rpms. It also trashed my synchros. I switched back to an OEM clutch and had the synchros replaced. All is well now.
