Question Leaking oil

I noticed that I have oil residue around the flange from the exhaust manifold to the motor. i wiped it clean one day and now there is oil on it again. Is it possible that my head gasket is going or gone?

I plan on doing pistons and rods once my buddy has time and will need to replace the head gasket but for now I need to know what to expect. Thanks Peeps.

I cant really make out those pics but I am below the lowest tick mark on the dipstick. I just checked. There is ALOT of oil residue I found on the motor under the exhaust manifold against the motor in those notches. I dont have a camera to take pics right now. Crap.

If it were a head gasket, your coolant would be milky.

Are you blowing smoke under boost?

Take your intake off and grab hold of the center section of the turbo. If you can move it side to side any more than a cu... hair, your turbo is shot.

Saying this, I'm not certain which turbo you are running. If it's a GT series turbo, it could also be that your oil feed line is too big.

In other words, to make this an accurate diagnosis, I need more info.

Oh and make sure you car is off when you grab the center section

not always from what i was told, u could just of lucked out and it is only leaking on an oil port? mine was leaking oil obviously a long time on the cam gear side.. it was a mess... and it was hiding behind the t belt cover ...... but only reason was noticed is because i hurt it even more. within 1 hour of haveing my GT35r kit on a stock block and me not knowing any better to switch ebc to wastegate instead of actuator... so then i built it but the car was still driving just leaking oil then..

Oil residue is resting in all the freeze plugs from what I have been told they are called. I put 2 quarts of oil in the motor in the meantime.

As far as the turbo, its pretty new so I'll see. I'll check to see if there is shaft play. The Mitsu guys thought it may be the head gasket as well since I have been running higher boost.

There is no white spoke and I do have the ARP headstuds torqued to ARP specs. We'll check to see once I can get VTeCh8tr to help me with the teardown.

Any other comments. I'll keep looking for pics.

Its a Turbo Trix Innovative turbo. I assume thats a GT series type turbo since the flange for the bolt up is different than stock.

You haven't changed anything else, like a catch can or anything have you?

If the motor is breathing, internal pressure will create blow by.

That'd be nice if it were only a head gasket problem

VTECH8TR just came by to see. He said the area around the head gasket is wet with oil. 99% sure its head gasket. I'll try to keep everyone posted as things progress.
