We don't know yet...the damn IX just got released.

One thing you don't need to worry about is the BOV, because the IX comes with the JDM MR DV (USDM now, I guess), so it's already upgraded. You also don't need to touch the intake...stock is best up to 400-450whp.

When shops figure out the exhaust, they will let us know.

Actually, Buschur got his hands on one and had this to say in a thread in this section:

Hello,

Well we are in the process of building the first BR330 and BR350 packages on two brand new EVO IX's. The BR350 is at the shop now, the other EVO will be coming in tomorrow to install the BR330 kit on.

Our exhaust fits the EVO IX just as the EVO8. Some changes to the car are going to make the installation just a little bit more difficult though.

The EVO 9 has the 02 sensor installed directly into the cat, on the top of it. This makes the wire routing run on top of the exhaust which the factory has built in some hangers for the wiring. One of these hangers bolts to the flange at the back of the cat. This hanger will not go around a 3" diameter pipe. SO when you guys see someone in the future saying their exhaust goes right no you can guess they have a reducer in their catback pipe. We don't believe in stinking reducers! The solution is simple, you have to simply cut the lower half of this two bolt bracket off. Then you re-install the bracket on the upper hole to hold the 02 sensor wiring. The other problem is the factory has not decided, for some odd reason, to install a small heat shield on the first carrier bearing. No idea what they did this for, never in 17 years have I seen a problem with a carrier bearing from heat from an exhaust. Anyway, this small shield is held on by one bolt and one stud. The stud hits a 3" diameter tube. So this heatshield needs to be removed, this requires cutting this small stud off.

What I am saying is you will need either a normal hacksaw for these two quick mods or if you have better tools a small air power cut off wheel works very quickly. Simple.

I don't see re-designing the system as the fitment is perfect. The hanger for the wiring would require supplying a new custom hanger or reducing our system size, and that won't happen.

The turbo is nice, looks to be exactly the same as the '04's except for the compressor cover which is much thicker. Car has two "cam" sensor now, one for the MIVEC on the intake cam. Car also has a new oil feed off the back of the engine, also for the MIVEC. The new valve cover in my opinion is not as good looking as the '03-05's. Everything else we have installed on the car has fit perfectly. I/c pipes, MAF pipe, filter kit, exhaust etc.

Thanks for reading.

Here are some pics/sound clip and info of the new JUN BL exhaust designed for the IX, being launched at SEMA in Vegas .JUN B.L Catback Exhaust for EVO

Hey guys I wanted to let everyone know that we are a dealer for JUN B.L exhaust products who have just released a beautiful 3" catback system for the EVO. I will get some pics of the exhaust on the car up here later today hopefully. It is made of polished stainless tubing that utilizes V-Band style clamps instead of your typical exhaust flange. Come with a 3" JUN B.L muffler with a 4" tip that exits the car on an angle to give it that JDM look. It has an adapter that allows it to directly bolt up to a stock downpipe. JUN B.L is currently in the process of producing the downpipe as well which will bolt up to their cat-back by simply removing the adapter and clamping it on....we have never seen an easier or nicer system as far as quality and installation goes. We will be ready to take orders on the catback immediatly, we have 10 units coming to use VERY soon. If anyone wonders how the JUN B.L muffler sounds just ask EVODAVE.....it puts most other mufflers to shame when it comes to sound and looks. We are taking deposits on the systems as of today!!
Here is a soundclip of the 3" Catback exhaust. The factory two-step is set up at 5500 rpm as heard in the clip. We revved the car to 5500 and note the nice tone, not raspy ricer tone that is typically of many other exhaust and muffler manufactuers.

I will get pics asap up here but as of now the MSRP is $849.00 We will probably run an introductory price at first but we have to determine that still. The quality is incredible, it is comparable in quality if not better than an HKS $1,000 system, with the exception that the JUN B.L has the v-band clamps. Check out their website to get an idea of the quality that goes into their products.

Hey Guys, My name is Les Haverty (evoviiiyou) and I am the national sales manager for JUN BL USA. If there are any particular questions about our new systems just pm me or email me at les@junblusa.com. These systems for the Evo are available now, and can be ordered through Switzer or through Jun BL directly, for the same price, in addition this is also available to all tuning shops in the industry with special vendor pricing for distribution. Eric get some pics up and show off a little! The fit, welds, and finish are better than HKS and that is why am switching my Carbon TI(HKS) for the Jun BL TI. All I needed was to see and hear evodave's clip that was posted a while ago, and I had to have one. Great to see these are now available everyone.
