Its acually been a very good day for Mitsubishi at the Nopi event - the 4G63 machines have turned the the tables on the HONDAS who customarily have dominated the T4 class. The AMS car and the Showdown 2nd G are both cars that have a serious chance to win as well ast the #1 qualifier who is 4G63 equiped.
Similarly in the power street class the Evos and in the top four spots !
A great day of you are a
fan!!!!!
It will be interesting to see how the day pans out.
For myself, I am quite pleased as a 10.01 was the fastest possible time I could have properly qualified as NOPI requires a pro license for anyone running 9.99 or faster which i dont have. My position in the lader is ideal and I should make it through to the second round which will give me two chances to run 9's if something doesnt break !
I plan to run into the 9's today in eliminations and hope to get ONE warning - the second time they will remove me from the event.

Seems AMS put Al on the trailer even though he had a better RT.
Also in Power street 2 mitsubishis that were there earlier seem to have not been able to make it baqck that usually means technical difficulty.

Man - what a GREAT weekend - it was a great event at NOPI and a really well run event with lots of great racing action
My car ran great - but I was afflcited with a serious case of IDIOT itis today
In the first round I planned to hit it with a 75 shot - put in a NOS tune and neglected to TURN ON THE BOTTLE !
I still won and man that stroker was great even with a weak tune up
Allan Friedman Mitsubishi Evo VIII .253 10.187 139.26 Winner
Rob Pachner Dodge .295 10.358 138.67
In the second round I was paired against the AMS evo 8 which required me to step up the tune - remember to turn on the bottle and also drive it like I stole it !
I fully intended to blow up or beat them
It was a great moment for me - that kind of action is a huge rush and what I live for
I treed them bad and took at least a two car lead
I shifted into 2nd and the NOS kicked in on this Buschur stroker and i felt power i never knew before - it nailed me into the seat so hard it was completely intxicating this massive application of tq
STUPIDLY I did not remember that the rev limiter waqs set a bit lower with the stroker and I ran right into it and when I hit it the car felt like a bomb went off
The car nosed down and my ***** slammed into my 5 point harness
I was feeling like the rear end exploded so I started to coast
Nothing was wrong - the data log showed I just was a buffon and forgot to shift
Next time a shift light !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Buschur Racing engine kicks major ***
I will be back to the track !

Thanks to AMS for a great race
