ARP headstud install question

Are you guys replacing the head gasket when you're doing this?

I have read that some people are replacing stud by stud one by one until all have been replaced. That seems kind of half assed to me but I could be completely wrong on that.

the textbook method of replacing the head bolts is to remove the head and replace the head gasket. one of my best friends is a Mitsu expert tech Evo certified and all at the largest mitsu dealer in ct and when we did mine he (to my unnecessary horror) quickly removed all of the bolts on the exhaust side and replaced them all at once. He has done literaly hundreds of head bolt repairs and assured me that everything would be fine.. He says that typically the head gasket on an evo with a few thousand miles is so stuck to the block and head that he has to pry the two apart with a bit of force. One month and 2000miles later and I am running 30 lbs of boost and have no evidence of head gasket leakage. I am not recommending this method but just letting you know that this particular knoledgable engine builder laughed at me when I expressed my concerns to him. he laughs at alot of the crap information that is propagated on these boards by people with no or limited experiece . He has built a few 500+whp evos here in ct out of his house here in ct and always does top notch work. dont believe anything you read unless you know the person behind the voice.

That is interesting info. I wish a few others would post and discuss how theirs were done.

I am half way doubting the need for ARPs since I dont think I will ever go beyond 25 psi but since I am about to install some cams I thought I would ask about the studs.
