Do cammed 05's really need a fuel pump?

I just installed 272's in my 05 and took it on a test run and my a/f ratios are the same as they were with stock cams with the same afc settings. If this is the case then why would I need a walbro?

On my 03 with cams I definitely needed one because my a/f was 11.5.1 with no fuel tuning. There was no way of adding fuel since the pump seemed maxed out. Once I added the pump it dropped down to 10.0.

I have a pump but it seems like the stock one is keeping up just fine on the 05. I will zero out my afc and see what the a/f is then. If it goes to 10.1 then it seems to me that the pump and injectors are fine.

Are there any instances where the stock pump blew on somebody? How are you guys determining that you need a pump?
